Equality Factory, founded in 2009 in Lodz, grew out of a local initiative of the Campaign Against Homophobia. Since then, it has become a leading cultural and educational organization in Lodz and the region, working for the LGBTQ+ community. As one of the most dynamic equality organizations in Poland, we engage in diverse activities. These include cultural animation, promoting acceptance and understanding for non-heterosexual and transgender people, and running wide-ranging educational programs on equality and anti-discrimination. Our multi-dimensional approach aims to build a more open and compassionate society for everyone.

Our mission

Our mission is to create a Poland in which every person enjoys full civil rights and freedoms, regardless of identity or background. We strive for a conscious society free from prejudice, discrimination, and hatred - a place where everyone can safely express their identity and feel accepted. We advocate reforms in the legal system that guarantee LGBTQ+ people dignity, protection, and support. By promoting tolerance and acceptance, and by breaking stereotypes against groups discriminated against due to gender, age, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation, we build a more just reality. Our work also includes human rights education, anti-discrimination efforts, and sexuality education. We want everyone to live in love, dignity, and safety.

As an equality organization, we strive to build a society where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of identity or life experience. Respect and acceptance for diversity are essential for us, and we act in solidarity by supporting marginalized people. We support education on human rights and equality, and the building of informed societies. We are open to different perspectives and create space for free exchange of views. Our work is rooted in democracy, authenticity, and integrity - we strive for equality and social justice.

What do we do?

Our Association undertakes diverse actions and initiatives because we believe our multi-layer, grassroots work brings the best outcomes.

Activism

We engage in activism focused on driving social, political, and cultural change through active intervention in existing structures and by creating new initiatives. We fight discrimination and hate, and we advocate for human rights, equality, and social justice. This work includes protests and street actions, activities in urban space, public gatherings and demonstrations, as well as advocacy.

Support

We know very well that living as an LGBTQ+ person in a heteronormative world can be overwhelming, which is why we support our community from within by running support groups and offering free psychological help. We create a queer space where people can finally feel safe and free. A sense of acceptance for every person is the foundation.

Education

We believe grassroots work is essential for building a better future, which is why we focus on reliable education. We run and organize workshops, trainings, and webinars on human rights, queerness, anti-discrimination, volunteering, and civic organization work.
